An investigative topic where children build the skills of exploration, observation and classification. We will begin by discovering the school grounds and observing the different types of trees and plants we have at school. We will then create a tally of the number of evergreen and deciduous trees. We will look closely at the parts of a flower and draw a labelled diagram before researching the artist, Georgia O’Keefe. Inspired by O’Keefe, we will learn how to take close-up photographs using a digital camera and then transform the children’s images into a unique piece of artwork to be shown in our Year 1 & 2 Art Exhibition.
